Appendix:

E80 was owned and raced by Mr Dudley Hely, he was on his way home from Silverstone when he was in an accident in the car, he was taken to hospital and he passed away a week later from injuries that he sustained at the time of the crash.
The car struck the rear end of a lorry, and the family decided that they didn’t want to see the car again, and the car was returned to the Donald Healey Motor company for disposal.  However Mr Ben Cox, a founder of the Association of Healey Owners UK, purchased the car from the factory for spares for his other Healey Silverstone he owned at the time.  The Engine was removed and the remainder of the car was then passed on to Jonathan Bowers also a founder member of the Association of the Healey Owners, who had stored the car for many years until this was purchased by Neil Collins after Jonathan’s passing.
The car has a pedigree of racing in period and was driven by Tony Brooks at a couple of race meetings.
